Belfast Excursion

Botanic Gardens

The Ulster Museum, located in the Botanic Gardens in Belfast, has around 8,000 square metres of public display space, featuring material from the collections of fine art and applied, archaeology, ethnography, treasures from the Spanish Armada, local history, numismatics, industrial archaeology, botany, zoology and geology.  It is the largest museum in Northern Ireland and one of the components of National Museums Northern Ireland.

The Ulster Museum

It was established in 1828 by the Belfast Botanic and Horticultural Society, in response to public interest in horticulture and botany. Originally known as the Belfast Botanic Garden, the site contained exotic tree species and impressive plant collections from the southern hemisphere, many of which can still be seen in the park. It`s home to the Palm House and the Tropical Ravine. The autumn fair marks the changing season with a weekend of food, flowers and family fun. You will be amazed at the award-winning blooms, fruit, vegetables and cacti on display. There will be live music and a variety of stalls selling food, plants, crafts and jewellery. And we`ve face painting and other free activities for kids too!
